PSG defender admits he was confident side would prevail
Paris Saint-Germain defender, David Luiz, has revealed that he told Jose Mourinho his new side would still beat his former-employees even with 10-men.
The French side lost their star-man, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, after he was sent off in the first-half, but despite the blow, they still went on to win the tie on away goals after picking up a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.
Luiz equalised last on during regular time, and then his defensive partner, Thiago Silva scored a header in extra-time to send the French side through.
After the game, Luiz admitted that he went over to Mourinho and said we’ll still beat you even with 10-men.
“I believe in my team. When I was by the touchline I was speaking with Mourinho about the red card.
“I trust my team. And we did win.”
