Brazilian reveals why he left Chelsea

Paris Saint-Germain defender David Luiz has revealed that the French title-holders want to become the best team in world football.

Luiz, who signed from Chelsea for ÂŁ50million in the summer, said that him and his team-mates are determined to be the next superpowers’ of the beautiful game.

Laurent Blanc’s Parisian outfit are on for the French treble, and Luiz has praised the club for giving him the chance to move across the channel.

‘It has been a great season for us and there is still one more final to play,’ Luiz told Football Focus on BBC One. ‘We would be the first team in France to win three titles in one year so I want to make history here.

‘This club gave me a great opportunity with a great plan and I’m happy to have this opportunity to join Paris.

‘We want to be the best team in the world but we know it’s a long way. Now we are becoming stronger and stronger year on year, and I hope in 10 or 15 years it will be the best time of Paris. But I hope we can win the Champions League before 10 years here!’

Leaving Chelsea Was Tough

The 28-year-old also stated that leaving Stamford Bridge was a tough decision, when PSG came calling.
