Chelsea defender David Luiz has played down the rivalry taking place between his manager Jose Mourinho and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, after the two exchanged words in the media last week.

The Brazilian believes the comments both managers have been making in the press should be ignored and has admitted that it’s just part of the game and everyone should move on from it.

Wenger, who was speaking ahead of his FA Cup tie with Liverpool, stated that Mourinho is scared of failure and that is why he keeps ruling out Chelsea’s title chances, and Mourinho hit back at the Frenchman and called him the ‘specialist of failure’, a comment which many people deemed too offensive.

When asked about Mourinho’s comments, Wenger responded by saying they are silly and disrespectful remarks and claimed Mourinho is an embarrassment to Chelsea Football Club.

However, Luiz believes all comments should be ignored as it’s part of the competitive nature of the game.

Luiz told Sky Sports News: “Football is like this, you cannot listen to everyone because if you listen to another coach, you don’t just have just one coach, you will have 10, 20, 100 coaches. Everyone wants to be part of our club and that’s natural.”
