The attacking midfielder has been on fire this season
Tottenham Hotspur’s young star Dele Alli has revealed the reasons he snubbed Liverpool to join the North London club back in the summer.
The 20-year old joined Spurs from MK Dons and has since gone on to nail down a starting spot at White Hart Lane.
It is believed that the England international was also a target for Liverpool and that Brendan Rodgers asked the infamous transfer committee to make the deal happen.
However, it didn’t materialise and Alli has since revealed that it was Mauricio Pochettino’s faith in young players that made up his mind.
‘I have always had confidence’
When speaking to Spurs TV, Alli said: “I have always had confidence in my ability. I knew I’d get a chance coming here, that’s one of the main reasons why I signed for Tottenham.”
“We’ve got a great manager who does work a lot with youngsters, you can see that this season. We’ve got great youngsters in the team and everyone is looking to fight for their place.”
