Source close to Chelsea star believes he’s fit and ready to play

Chelsea striker Diego Costa will be fit to play against Swansea City in tomorrow’s Premier League opener, according to a source close to the Spaniard.

Costa, who sat out of the Community Shield last Sunday, was a major doubt going into tomorrow evenings game, but according to a source close to him, he is fit and ready to play.

After their last pre-season game on Wednesday night, Jose Mourinho admitted that he didn’t know when the star-striker would be fully fit, but it seems like he is already.

Costa Caution

Mourinho wanted to be cautious with the 25-year-old due to his hamstring problems in the past, and that’s why he missed the game at Wembley against Arsenal, but he looks set to be involved in the first game of their title defence.

According to the source, Costa had a productive training session yesterday without feeling any pain in his hamstrings after having an entire week off.

After scoring 20 during his debut season in England, the Spaniard will be hoping for a repeat campaign ending in yet another Premier League title.
