Donny van de Beek will definitely push for an exit in January.

The Dutch midfielder has made only six starts for the Red Devils since his arrival at Old Trafford three years ago.

He has fallen down the pecking order following the arrivals of Mason Mount and Sofyan Amrabat this summer.

His career was expected to revive after the arrival of Erik ten Hag in the summer of 2022 but the manager preferred other options in the middle of the park.

Van de Beek was excluded from the 25-man squad of the Champions League and was expected to leave this summer.

He was expected to join Real Sociedad in the summer but the two clubs couldn’t come to an agreement.

In a recent interview, Erik ten Hag has hinted that Van de Beek would be allowed to leave in the January transfer window.

Ten Hag said: “I think Donny has to play.” In games he was in the squad, so he had the opportunity.”

“It was a slow start to the season because he was still recovering from physical setbacks. But he is back now and he is doing really well in training, so if you can’t give him perspective then I can see he has to play for his career and for everything.”
