New Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is having to do a defensive reshuffle for his first game in charge after Joe Gomez suffered a suspected damaged ACL.

Gomez twisted his right knee playing for England Under-21s against Kazakhstan on Tuesday in Coventry.  He had to go off during the 3-0 win.

He underwent a scan yesterday, and if the suspected damage to the anterior cruciate ligament is confirmed, he faces six to nine months on the treatment table.

The news will come as a blow not only to Klopp, but to Gomez too. He has been impressive for the Reds since arriving from Charlton Athletic in the summer.

For the game against Tottenham on Saturday, Klopp will have to decide who gets the nod between Spanish pair Jose Enrique and Alberto Moreno, although Jon Flanagan is also capable of filling in for Gomez.
