Chelsea prepared to pay over £40m
According to reports, Antoine Griezmann has hinted that he wants to join Premier League champions Chelsea.
24-year-old French international, Griezmann, has scored 22 goals in 34 appearances for Atletico Madrid this season and that has made Chelsea and other clubs sit up with interest.
Transfer irony
Having spent five years at Real Sociedad, before his 30million euro transfer to Atletico , Griezmann was ironically signed to replace the outgoing Diego Costa, on his way to Chelsea. It now seems possible they will both be lining up together next season.
Griezmann seems to fit the style of Jose Mourinho’s current Chelsea side, and a £43million deal has been suggested.
Three on the way?
Chelsea are keen on the Frenchman’s teammates Koke and Diego Godin, with all three being rumoured to be on their way to the Bridge.
International success
Griezmann, from Macon, East-Central France, was called up to the French national squad in early 2014 and went on to represent his country in Brazil at the World Cup. He has also notched up an impressive 5 goals from midfield in 16 appearances. Chelsea would like that sort of ratio at club level I am sure.
