Arsenal are weighing up a move for Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez, according to reports.

Foxes ace Mahrez has been one of the real stars of the season, playing his part in their sensational run to the top of the table.

He has 14 goals and 10 assists in the Premier League this term.

ESPN claim that Arsenal are one of many clubs interested in his signature, along with the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Barcelona.

The Algerian has proved to be an absolute bargain, costing just ÂŁ400,000 when he joined from Le Havre in 2014.

Gunners manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that he tried to sign Mahrez before, and still regrets not doing so.

“I didn’t know him, he played in the second division in France, so they [Leicester] did extremely well,” he said.

“He has developed very well and today he is one of the dominant players in the Premier League.

“You are disappointed [to miss out on signing such players], yes, but on the other hand that happens to every club and we have to accept that. Every club faces these kind of things.

“You give me that example but if I sign a player for ÂŁ400,000, before he plays, people will say ‘what is that? That is not serious for Arsenal’. You have to accept it.”
