Diego Costa in bust up with Mourinho

The Spaniard missed Chelsea’s warm-up against Tottenham and threw his bib in disgust remaining on the bench

Chelsea striker Diego Costa may have damaged his long-term future at the club, following a rift with manager Jose Mourinho in Sunday’s stalemate at Spurs.

The Spanish forward was dropped from the starting XI for the London derby and remained an unused substitute, which has caused friction between himself and the Special One.

It was reported Costa refused to warm-up prior to the match and with minutes to go in the game, he threw his bib in the direction of Mourinho, venting his frustration.

Bad-boy Diego

This is the second incident this week between the pair as they also clashed at half-time in Chelsea’s Champions League game at Maccabi Tel-Aviv.

It has become evidently clear Mourinho is not afraid to drop his ‘best players’, and has emphasised on a number of occasions in his career, not one player is bigger than the club.

The £32million striker may have been The Blues’ top-scorer last season but poor performances and continued rifts may see his future lie away from London.
