Chelsea offload Baba on loan

Chelsea have confirmed the departure of left-back Baba Rahman on a season-long loan transfer to Bundesliga side Schalke.

The Ghanaian youngster has struggled for playing time since joining Stamford bridge, hence a loan move may be the best option for his growth.

Despite being dubbed a promising young defender, Rahman has seen himself down the pecking order to the likes of Spanish left back Cesar Azpilicueta, whom will be fierce competition to dislodge from his place.

Instead, the 22-year-old will hope to have some joy back in Germany, where he previously caught the eye of top clubs with his fine performances for Augsburg.

Rahman could potentially be seen as another “victim” of the Chelsea loan system, which has been widely criticised by many people.

he joins the long list of players already out on loan from Stamford Bridge:

Baba Rahman (Schalke)
Mitchell Beeney (Crawley Town)
Andreas Christensen (Borussia Monchengladbach)
Nathan Ake (Bournemouth)
Tomas Kalas (Fulham)
Wallace (Gremio)
Victorien Angban (Granada)
Matej Delac (Mouscron-Peruwelz)
Charly Musonda (Real Betis)
Jeremie Boga (Granada)
Kasey Palmer (Huddersfield Town)
Lewis Baker (Vitesse)
Nathan (Vitesse)
Joao Rodriguez (Santa Fe)
Alex Kiwomya (Crewe Alexandra)
