Chelsea slap colossal price tag on their Barcelona target

The Blues are potentially ready to sell their striker this month if a club is willing to offer a world-record transfer fee

Chelsea will consider offers for Diego Costa this month providing that the respective clubs meet their £130 million valuation.

The Spain international is set to return to the starting line-up for the Blues’ Premier League match with relegation-threatened Hull on Sunday, but it could be one of the striker’s last games for the club.

A reported bust-up between himself and boss Antonio Conte has rocked the ship at Stamford Bridge, and the club could be ready to cash in midway through their title challenge.

Chelsea are currently six points clear of second-placed Tottenham in the league, and Costa is an integral part of their first-team squad. But with the Chinese Super League, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid all interested, they admit they are ready to let him go.

Costa previously admitted he wanted to leave the club last season, during their horror title defence. But with a great chance of regaining the Premier League title this season, it’s hard to believe he would want to leave in January.

However, the club are reportedly ready to listen to world-record transfer offers, with his former club, Atletico, having been wishing for his return to the Spanish capital pretty much since he left for Stamford Bridge in 2014.

Teams in China want to offer Costa £30 million a year, however, the player appears to have made up with Conte and is no rush to leave the club.
