Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is close to completing the signing of Red Star Belgrade midfielder Marko Grujic, according to reports.
The 19-year-old has been on the radar of Reds assistant manager Zeljko Buvac, who is well aware of his ability.
Klopp reportedly has a dossier from Buvac about the starlet, and Grujic himself last week admitted talks had taken place.
He said: “I had a talk with Liverpool, but I did not receive yet any agreement. I’m still a Red Star player.
“I’ll try to respect the club, the fans and the general public, but I think that for myself I have to choose the best environment, where I will get the chance to play and where I work with good coaches in good conditions.”
According to Goal.com, the talks were positive, and the Reds were hopeful that a deal could be done for Grujic, valued by the Serbian club at ÂŁ5m.
Chelsea and Inter Milan are also reportedly keen on the player.
