Manchester United legend vows: ‘Red Devils WILL beat Arsenal, even with a weakened team!’

Manchester United take on Arsenal on Sunday, in a Premier League clash with major top-four implications for both sides.

When these two clubs meet, it is usually a tenacious, feisty affair, that often sees tensions boil over.

Even though neither side can win the title this season, there is still a lot at stake for both clubs.

United manager Jose Mourinho may be taking off some of the edge heading into this clash, insisting that his side are putting all of their eggs in one basket, namely the Europa League, which offers a route back into the Champions League for next season. United take on Spaniards Celta Vigo tonight in the first leg of their Semi-Final.

He has also vowed to name weakened sides in their remaining league games to focus on continental ambitions.

Ex-United midfielder Roy Keane believes that, if United do field a weakened side against the Gunners, managed by Mourinho’s old rival Arsene Wenger, United should still be up to the challenge.

‘Even a weak team would probably still beat Arsenal,’ Keane said. ‘They can afford to do that.

‘It is clear that his priority is trying to win the Europa League and guarantee Champions League football.

‘I think he is right. With the way the last week has gone, prioritise winning a trophy, definitely.’
