Mourinho growing frustrated with Manchester United wait

Jose Mourinho is reportedly growing more and more frustrated with Manchester United, and their delay in wanting to hire him and replace Louis van Gaal.

Van Gaal has seen his position as United manager come under more and more scrutiny this season, especially after a December to forget.

United were dumped out of the Champions League group stages, and failed to garner a single win in the month.

Mourinho was widely tipped to take over from the Dutchman after being sacked by Chelsea.

However, the last couple of United games, against the Blues and Swansea, saw a couple of improved performances.

This has seen LVG cling on to his job, at least for the time being.

The lack of action by the United board has saddened and frustrated the Special One, who seemingly had his heart set on the Old Trafford hotseat.

Mourinho had even turned down a return to Real Madrid, having wanted the quick return to the Premier League.

Former Madrid president Ramon Calderon told talkSPORT: “The chosen one was Mourinho, but he decided not to come now. He didn’t want to come now.

“Zidane has come [in as manager] because he was here. I’m quite sure they wanted Mourinho to come now.”

It is claimed by ESPN that Mourinho wasted no time in applying for the United job, only 24 hours after his Chelsea dismissal.

But it appears that he will not wait forever.
