Olivier Giroud says Chelsea players are very upset how they surrendered before Tottenham Hotspur in the last match.

Chelsea’s unbeaten tag was badly exploited by Spurs as the North London side outplayed their London rivals in a one sided 3-1 win at the Webley stadium. Dele, Alli, Harry Kane and Heung-min Son were on target while Giroud scored the solitary goal for the visitors.

Sarri’s men hadn’t lost a single match until the London derby where they were a no match for Mauricio Pochettino’s side. Spurs dominated possessions and the score line could have been shameful had Kepa Arrizabalag not made a number of excellent stops.

Giroud said, “It’s a normal feeling to feel angry about what we’ve done on the pitch. We cannot be satisfied with that kind of performance.

“Collectively, obviously we’re not happy to lose that kind of game, especially because they are direct opponents for the title. So, yes, when you lose you are not happy, not proud of your performance.

“The manager was not happy at all with our performance. We just want to stay conscious of the situation, even if it was our first defeat of the season.

“It has been hard to accept it. We want to bounce back as soon as possible, tomorrow in the Europa League and against Fulham on Sunday.”
