The 33-year-old was out of contract
West Ham United yesterday confirmed the signing of ex-Liverpool full-back Alvaro Arbeloa.
The Spaniard, who can play as a right-back or a left-back, was a free agent after his deal at Real Madrid expired at the end of last season.
Arbeloa has signed a one-year contract at the London Stadium and will wear the No. 5 shirt for the Hammers.
He is set for a role as the club’s back up right-back behind Sam Byram, meaning Michail Antonio will continue playing in his natural position on the right wing.
