Nuno Santo expresses sympathy for Leo Bonatini
Wolves striker Leo Bonatini is expected to leave Molineux on loan after slipping down the pecking order under Nuno Espirito Santo.
Bonatini, who was on loan from Al-Hilal last season, was a key figure for Wolves in the Championship last term but he has failed to cement his place in the first-team this season in the Premier League after Wolves decided to make his stay permanent in the summer.
However, the manager has expressed his sympathy for the Brazilian, saying that his lack of regular minutes has nothing to do with his level of commitment on the training ground.
“The situation of Leo is different, he hasn’t had too many minutes, he’s not involved at this moment with the team,” Nuno said.
“We have to wait and see.
“Sometimes it’s hard to make these kinds of decisions. Sometimes the player does everything that he can, it’s just sometimes your game plan, what you want, the way you want to proceed and grow, the ideas that you have, sometimes some players are left behind. And it’s tough.
“But sometimes it’s the reality. We are here to support all the players.
“If they’re not involved it doesn’t mean the player isn’t doing everything he can.”
