Rabiot to leave PSG for peanuts

It seems that the PSG-Rabiot saga could finally be drawing to an end with PSG ready to sell the player for as little as €5 million in January.

The player and the club had a complete breakdown in contract negotiations this month with both parties going public over their apparent dissatisfaction with the opposing camp. PSG were the first side to air their dirty laundry saying that the player and his agent has misguided the club for months and as a result negotiations with Rabiot will stop, The player was punished by being frozen out of the first team and wait till the summer of 2019 when his contract would expire.

Rabiot’s mother, who also happens to be his agent, jumped to the defence of the player saying that PSG are complaining over spilled milk as the player had very clearly handed in a transfer request this summer, which the club refused to accept. Subsequently, according to Rabiot’s agent, the player never showed any interest in signing a new contract and was clear about wanting an out the entire time.

It now seems that PSG, who are in serious financial trouble with respect to the laws they broke over FFP, are desperate to scrap together money from all pockets to avoid a fine or a ban from UEFA. They are now reportedly ready to accept a bid as low as €5 million for the want-away midfielder who would otherwise leave for free in the summer.

This would mean, Barcelona, who have long been linked to the player, will have the chance to swoop in on a steal deal for the Argentine, given the inflated nature of the current market. January promises to be exciting for Rabiot.
