Juventus got a very important victory against Inter Milan on Sunday, we have five things we learned from this important Serie A match.

The Old Lady had a complicated task of getting past the current leaders of the competition at their own stadium. Manager Antonio Conte was doing a fantastic job on his return to the sidelines, the Inter Milan squad had everything in its favor to get a new victory against their most competitive title contender.

But things didn’t work out the way they wanted, Juventus has a more complete squad and Maurizio Sarri finally got them to fit the pieces together. There are some very interesting aspects of this exciting match that we need to discuss, we will go into detail about it.

We bring you, the Five things we learned from Juventus’ clash against Inter Milan Milan.

1. Paulo Dybala is essential for Juventus

There had been many moments in which Maurizio Sarri chose to leave Paulo Dybala on the bench this season, but he gave the Argentine his chance against Inter Milan. In the very first minutes of the game, Dybala didn’t disappoint and he scored the first goal of the match.

Paulo also proved that he has a unique connection with Ronaldo on the pitch, they almost scored a beautiful goal that was eventually disallowed due to an off-side. Hopefully, he can get even more opportunities from the manager after his performance against Inter Milan. The man earned his shot to star in more important matches this season.

2. Diego Godin is far from his best days

The Uruguay international might have been one of the best defenders in the world when he played for Atletico Madrid, but he proved that those days are gone. While playing against Juventus, he had some very interesting duels against their offensive line.

Whether he was trying to mark Cristiano Ronaldo or Paulo Dybala, Godin wasn’t able to keep up with anybody for the key moments of the game. Antonio Conte kept asking him to improve on his movements from the sidelines, but he soon realized that it was impossible.

Although he will perform well against less difficult opponents, the most important matches will be the ones in which he will struggle. Godin particularly suffered against Ronaldo, who is another veteran of the game.

3. Ronaldo had an incredible performance

Despite not scoring a single goal against Inter Milan on Sunday, Cristiano Ronaldo easily played his best match so far with the Old Lady. We are only counting the games he has played in Serie A, Cristiano is currently faster than usual and he is even dropping a few dribbling gems here and there.

There was a very specific moment with Godin, where he left the defender with no chance to mark him after a skill showcase. This Ronaldo will get Juventus quite far this season, all he needs is to maintain this level of performance.

We are convinced this is the best Ronaldo we have seen at the Italian club so far, he will do great things this year.

4. Gonzalo Higuain is not done yet

Maurizio Sarri keeps leaving one player on the bench and another one inside the pitch, he always has to choose between Dybala and Higuain. El Pipita has delivered better results so far this season, something he proved against Inter Milan after scoring the winning goal during the final minutes.

Higuain is slowly getting back to that player that ruled over Italian football when he played for Napoli, that same player that also had Sarri as his manager. The 31-year-old striker played a few minutes, but that was all he needed in order to make an impression.

5. Romelu Lukaku underperformed

The Belgian striker suffered an unexpected muscular problem ahead of last week’s match against Barcelona, Conte decided to save him for this Sunday. However, the striker was far from the level of performance that he usually has with Inter Milan Milan ever since his arrival from Manchester United.

His game against Juventus was nowhere near what he usually offers, and the Old Lady could benefit from his absence on the pitch. He did play the full 90 minutes, but Inter Milan clearly didn’t have the best Lukaku playing for them on Sunday.

On the particular confrontation between him and Matthijs de Ligt, the striker should have done a lot more against the youngster and he couldn’t.
