Chelsea and Real Madrid have officially announced that a deal has been reached between two clubs for the Belgian captain Eden Hazard.
The Belgian had been speculated with a move to Real Madrid for years now with the transfer finally coming to fruition yesterday. Real Madrid announced on their homepage that they have signed the Belgian wizard on a five year deal while Chelsea also announced the farewell of their best player.
Both sides have been negotiating hard for the last one week. Despite only one year left on his contract, Chelsea demanded in excess of 100 million pounds for the winger and negotiations hence took longer than expected. The official amount of his transfer has not been revealed by Chelsea or Real Madrid with both clubs keen on keeping the value private.
Chelsea signed Hazard in the summer of 2012 after winning the Champions League. In the seven years, he has played 352 games for the Blues and has scored 110 goals in that time. He won 6 major trophies for the West London club and has won 4 player of the year trophies at the club.
He is now 28 and by joining Real Madrid he will surely be seeking to win his first Ballon d’Or.
