REVEALED: Why Stoke Jedinak deal collapsed

The proposed transfer of Mile Jedinak from Crystal Palace to Stoke City on Deadline Day has fallen through,

The deal was set to be completed just hours before the window closed, and the relevant paperwork was sorted out.

However, personal terms could not be agreed between the two clubs, and Jedinak is staying at Selhurst Park.

Also staying with the Eagles is striker Dwight Gayle.

The former Peterborough striker was targeted by Norwich City in a ÂŁ4m move, but that deal fell through.

Another forward not going anywhere for the time being is Charlie Austin.

He was being closely linked with Palace, but he flatly denied any talk of a move, tweeting ‘#9 #QPR big season ahead’.

Austin not going anywhere surprised a few people, including Matt Le Tissier, who tweeted ‘ “When you see the inflate fees going about, for ÂŁ15m you’ve got someone who scored a lot of goals last season and proved he could do it. To this day I can’t believe somebody hasn’t taken a chance on him.”
