Sean Dyche has opened up on Burnley’s performance following his side’s 1-0 loss at the hand of Wolves in the Premier League. Despite the poor start, the Clarets manager is confident of shrugging off their initial difficulties.

Burnley are yet to muster a win in the top flight this season as they suffered their fourth defeat in five games. Raul Gimenez scored the solitary goal as Wolves inflicted a hapless loss on Sean Dyche’s side.

On the back of an excellent campaign last season there was a sense of optimism around the Turf Moor since the start of the new season but so far Dyche hasn’t been able to execute his plans properly.

The Clarets failed to grab a place in the Europa League group stage and are now struggling to get a hold in the Premier League.

Dyche said, “No complaints, Wolves played well.

“They are a good side and we knew we would have to defend resolutely, which to be fair I thought we did – our ‘keeper played well.

“We were a bit more like ourselves defensively. It was a poor goal but other than that we got blocks in, were resolute and stayed in the game where we could have got something.

“But attacking wise it was nowhere near enough, not enough quality, guile and energy really. That’s got to change.

“We’re in a bit of fog at the moment, we collectively have to get our way out of that. We’ve been here before, we know it changes quickly, but we’ve got to work to make it change.”
