Foyth insists he is enjoying every moment at Spurs
Juan Foyth insists that he is enjoying life his at Tottenham Hotspur after a tough start to his career in the Premier League. The Argentine youngster made his move to north London back in 2017 from Estudiantes but had to wait for more than a year to make his bow in the Premier League.
Foyth gave away a couple of soft penalties in Spurs’ 3-2 win over Wolves earlier in the season but has since made four domestic appearances, with his latest outing being a clean sheet in Tottenham’s 7-0 whitewash of Tranmere Rovers in the third round of the FA Cup.
“It’s been a really good 16 months for me,” he told the club’s matchday programme. “I’m really happy to be here.
“I’m here because this is a big club. We have great players and the staff have plans for every player – that was a big factor in why I signed.
“When I arrived I was very nervous because one day I was playing FIFA at home, and the next I was training with the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli.
“I think I was a different player at that time to what I am now,” he continued. “I wasn’t really fully prepared to play in the Premier League back then.
“The last few months have been incredible for me. I’ve really enjoyed it recently, but I can’t stop. I have to keep working and keep improving every day.
“I have improved a lot in the time I have been here. It was a good decision to sign, I’ve got a great bond with my team-mates and I’m enjoying every moment.”
