Borini joined the Italian side in a shock move.

Now, he is set to move away.

The agent of AC Milan forward Fabio Borini has confirmed that his client is set for an exit in January, with interest both in Italy and abroad. Borini has not featured since the second game of the season and has racked up just 70 minutes of league action so far, with coach Pioli seemingly not keen on using Borini in any position.

The 28-year-old’s representative Roberto De Fanti spoke to Radio Rossonera about the future of his client, confirming that the forward will leave next month. Borini has plummeted down the pecking order at Milan this season and, in his two years at San Siro, has rarely played in his preferred position, even being used as a full-back on more than one occasion.

“Every coach makes decisions,” De Fanti said. “We will make sure he plays elsewhere by mutual agreement. Offers aren’t lacking from both Italy and England.” Despite that, De Fanti made it clear the Euro 2012 runner-up had no regrets about his move to the Rossoneri: “It was an absolutely positive experience.”

The former Chelsea, Liverpoool, Sunderland ace has made a total of 75 appearances in a red and black shirt, second in total only to the 93 outings he enjoyed at Sunderland.
