Last season’s treble winners planning January bid for Dynamo Kiev striker

Barcelona have set their sights on signing Dynamo Kiev forward Andriy Yarmolenko in January, according to reports in Spain.

Yarmolenko has been heavily lined to a move to Merseyside with both Liverpool and Everton fighting for the Ukrainian’s signature.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez is an admirer of the player after his performance knocked Everton out the Europa League last season and allegedly failed with a late attempt to bring him in this transfer window.

Barca bound

It was reported that Liverpool were willing to meet the player’s £14.5million release clause but will need to fight off competition from Barcelona.

However, Yarmolenko has said he would prefer a move to Spain over England and he could be set for a switch to La Liga in January.

The Ukraine front man is currently on international duty with his side needing maximum points against Belarus and group leaders Slovakia to boost their chances of qualification.

Yarmolenko has scored 71 goals in 178 appearances for Kiev and 19 times in 49 caps for his country.
