The Norwegian has been a member of Real Madrid since 2015.
However, it is just now that he is fulfilling his ambitions.
Real Madrid are aiming to bring Martin Odegaard back to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer following what has so far been a successful loan spell at Real Sociedad. Odegaard has been one of the most beautiful surprises in all of world football in 2019, with the Norwegian finally showing off his quality with the ball in LaLiga.
Nearly every single weekend with Sociedad, Ødegaard has put on a show with his goals, assists, and individual moments of magic. With Real Madrid suffering from injuries and below-par performances in the midfield, AS is now reporting that Los Blancos will cut his two-year loan short and Ødegaard will return to the club in the summer.

The two clubs spoke about the Madrid player when they clashed in La Liga back in November, a game well won by Zinedine Zidane’s side, and it appears there will be little resistance from Sociedad due tot their fantastic relationship with Odegaard’s parent club. The midfielder was bought by Los Blancos back in 2015 from his native Norway, and was revered as one of the best young talents in world football. However, things haven’t quite gone to plan.
Following a number of loan spells to the Eredivisie for Heerenveen and Vitesse, with varying degrees of success, Odegaard has finally become the fully-fledged starlet that Real Madrid have been so desperately craving. The loan contract is officially for one season, but there is a second year verbally agreed between the clubs. Due to prior business dealings, the relationship between the two clubs is understood to be “magnificent” and it’s not believed there will be any problem with Madrid recalling the Norway international a year early.
