The agent of Fabio Borini has today confirmed that they are not seeking an exit away from Liverpool, despite the lack of first-team action.

The Italian striker spent last season out on-loan to Sunderland, and was expected to complete a ÂŁ14million permanent deal to The Black Cats over the Summer, but the move broke down due to wage demands, leaving Borini at Anfield.

However, being behind three other strikers in Brendan Rodgers’ pecking order lead to speculation of the Italian moving elsewhere, but no possible move materialised and he stayed on at the club.

Inter Milan and Queens Park Rangers were two other clubs interested in Borini, but he decided to snub them both in order to compete with the likes of; Daniel Sturridge, Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert, but so far, he’s failed to break into the starting XI.

Despite the lack of football, Borini’s agent, Marco De Marchi, has confirmed that they aren’t working on any potential deal which would see him leave the club in the near-future.

“Borini is a top level player, so consequently he has a contract with Liverpool and any club interested knows how to approach them,” he told FCInterNews.it.

“At this moment I am certainly not going to look for another club, as the boy is happy to remain at Liverpool. Let’s not forget he left a journey he already started at Roma in order to come to England.

“Liverpool have no intention of loaning him out, as they already proved in August. We know that and so do all the clubs who came looking for him in the last transfer session.

“The situation is exactly the same as it was in September, in the sense that he is very happy to be part of this important team.

“He has managed to find some space playing in the Champions League and starting in the Premier League. Things are progressing as expected.”
