Brighton’s youngster on Chelsea’s radar amidst striker search

Fabrizio Romano, football transfer expert, recently disclosed Chelsea’s significant interest in Brighton’s rising star, Evan Ferguson.

The young striker has been creating waves in the Premier League, attracting the attention of popular European clubs, including Chelsea.

According to Romano, Ferguson has become a priority for the Blues, despite the huge price tag linked with the brilliant forward.

Romano stated: “We keep seeing Brighton’s Evan Ferguson linked with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United.

“I can confirm that big clubs like these are following Ferguson, because he’s a top talent, but it’s just normal scouting and monitoring – it would be surprising if they weren’t keeping an eye on an exciting young player like him!

“However, There is nothing more concrete to report for the moment. Ferguson only recently signed a new contract with Brighton, so he’s fully focused on them.

“I’m told he’s really happy at Brighton and sees it as the best place for him to develop now, as we’ve seen with so many other top young players there in recent times.

“I’m sure we’re going to keep seeing links everywhere, but nothing is going to be decided now.”

Ferguson’s price now equals that of Moises Caicedo, a player Chelsea acquired for a massive £115 million. Though, Ferguson recently signed a new contract with Brighton.

The acquisition shows Chelsea’s willingness to sign top-tier talent, which is consistent with their search of a prolific striker.

While names like Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney have been mentioned during transfer talks, Evan Ferguson appears to be an impressive prospect for the Blues in their search of attacking power.
