Shakhtar Donesk striker Maicon has died in a Car accident, the club have confirmed.
The club issued a statement earlier this morning, regarding the passing, which read.
“He was a talented footballer, open and friendly guy. Maicon loved life and knew how to make it positive and bright. Tragic, untimely and absurd death took away a wonderful person from our ranks,” the club said in a statement published on the official website.
The centre forward centre forward signed for the club in 2012, and was part of a strong Brazilian contingent at the club, making six appearances during his time, scoting one goal at the Donbass Arena.
The 25-year-old, was on a loan to the Ukrainian Premier league club Illichivets Mariupol until the end of the 2013-14 season, however, no further details of the crash have been made known just yet.
