A potential escape route to Russia for the striker

According to reports, former Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur boss Andre Villas-Boas is interested signing Radamel Falcao.

The Colombian international has struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League and had a poor season-long loan spell at Manchester United last term; now he is failing to break into the Chelsea first team during his second loan contract in England.

However, the 29-year old could leave as soon as January, because Villas-Boas, now the chief at Zenit Saint Petersburg, is looking to snap the centre forward up.

The winter transfer window could see him leave West London

According to the website ONE World Sports, AVB wants Falcao so they can once again work together after a successful time together at Porto.

Despite this, current Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho insists there has been no contact from Falcao’s parent club Monaco about any switch to the Russian Premier League.

The under pressure Portuguese gaffer admits that Falcao must earn his place at Stamford Bridge and is down the pecking order behind Diego Costa.
