Technical Director leaves the club by mutual consent

Tottenham Hotspur Football Club have announced that Franco Baldini has left the club by mutual consent.

The Italian agreed to a severance package back in August and has now ended his two-year association with the North London club.

Baldini arrived back in 2013 when Andre Villas-Boas was in charge, and after overseeing several unsuccessful transfer windows, the club finally decided to part ways with him.

The technical director was in charge of the club’s scouting and transfer policy, which saw him take control of the Gareth Bale money after he swapped White Hart Lane for Real Madrid.

Spurs infamously splashed the cash on several new signings, but only two have been deemed successful signings, Christian Eriksen and Nacer Chadli.

Club Statement

A club statement read: “We can confirm that Franco Baldini has left the Club by mutual consent.

“Franco joined us as Technical Director in June 2013 from AS Roma where he was General Director. He leaves us now to spend time outside of club football.

“We wish him all the best for the future.”
