Defender tweeted before Stoke City game

Liverpool right-back Glen Johnson has dropped a massive hint that he’s set to leave Anfield this Summer after sending out a tweet on his official account yesterday.

The England international is entering the final month of his contract in Merseyside and it doesn’t look likely that an extension will be offered with no talks in the pipeline.

Johnson confirmed earlier this year that the club aren’t interested in holding contract talks with him, meaning he is free to leave at the end of the season.

According to reports, West Ham United are interested in signing the 30-year-old and yesterday the right-back dropped a major hint that his future is away from Anfield.

Johnson’s Cryptic Tweet

Just moments before Liverpool kicked off their final game of the season against Stoke City, Johnson tweeted out: “A big thank you to all the people out there who have genuinely supported me through the last 6 years #200 #NewChapter.”

Johnson has fallen out of favour at Anfield in recent seasons and with his contract set to expire, now was the best time for both parties to see a transfer occur.

As well as interest from West Ham, it’s reported that there are admirers from both Italy and Turkey.
