The scouse club are the latest to express interest in the striker.
Athletic Madrid’s frontman Angel Correa could be headed for Merseyside as reports claim that Liverpool have expressed interest and made an offer to sign the forward.
The 22 year old winger joined Atletico from San Lorenzo in 2014 and was a regular for Atletico last season.
The Argentinian made 47 appearances in all competitions, scoring eight goals and assisting 11.
According to Foot Mercato, Liverpool are now looking to complete a deal for Correa. They say the Reds have offered him a five-year contract worth around £2.5m-a-year with his current club holding out for just under £25m.
Real Sociedad, Inter and Boca Juniors are also reportedly interested in the forward, but due to Athlete’s transfer ban they may wait until next year to sell. Atletico are banned from signing anyone until January after a FIFA-imposed transfer ban was upheld earlier this summer.
It has been reported that the club do not want to sell while under transfer embargo but if a big bid comes in they will consider it.
The only new faces to arrive at Anfield so far this summer are Mohamed Salah and Dominic Solanke.
Liverpool have been branded as embarrassing as they have failed to find a centre-back after the Virgil van Dijk fiasco and have failed to reach an agreement with RB Leipzig for Naby Keita.
