A lot of reports have recently come out about the goalkeeping situation at Tottenham and today Andre Villas-Boas has opened up about the two goalkeepers fighting for the number one shirt.

Recently new goalkeeper, Hugo Lloris, has said he wasn’t happy with the comments his new manager made about the situation, but Brad Friedel has also openly spoke about how he expects to keep the number one shirt whilst he is still fit and ready. This also led to defender, Benoit Assou-Ekotto saying that Lloris should wait his turn to get a chance in between the sticks.

Before the weekend game against Reading, Spurs boss, Andre Villas-Boas, insists that Hugo Lloris is happy with life at Tottenham even though he is behind Brad Friedel in the ranks. He also confirmed that it would be the American that starts against Reading.

“We have had a conversation with Hugo,” says Villas-Boas.

“We are extremely happy that he is part of this squad. We have no doubts about his talent and his future in the club, but against Reading we have made the decision to continue with Brad. Hugo just has to be patient and of course he will be patient.”
