Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is NOT interested in a move for wantaway West Ham forward Dimitri Payet.
Payet has been involved in a controversial saga with West Ham over the last few weeks, with Slaven Bilic admitting that Payet is REFUSING to play for the Hammers, and that he wants to leave before the end of the transfer window.
It is believed that Payet has refused big money offers from both China and England, and is trying to push through a move to his former club Marseille – but rumours have began circulating that both Chelsea and Arsenal are keeping tabs on the situation.
But Arsene Wenger claims he has no need to sign another attacking player, stating:
“I don’t need Payet, because we have so many creative players.
“I rate Payet as a player, of course, but it’s not an area where we are looking for some players.
“No. We have many players offensively who can play in his position, you are interested in the quality of the player but there needs to be a need as well, and we have no need in this domain.”
Despite Wengers comments, many fans feel the decision depends on the future of both Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, who are both yet to sign a new contract with the Gunners despite ongoing talks.
Wenger has insisted that neither of the two will be sold, even if the two stars, who have 21 goal between them this season alone, do not sign a new contract with the north London side.
Payet’ situation seems simple on the outside – he wants to leave east London to return to his native France, specifically former club Marseille, but there could be any number of things going on at West Ham, and reports are suggesting that Marseille have already have two bids turned down, but are said to be preparing a third in a last ditch effort to save Payet from his London nightmare.
