Ex-Liverpool defender, Jamie Carragher, believes Brendan Rodgers should do all he can to sign Swansea City striker, Wilfried Bony.

The Ivorian scored again yesterday during Swansea’s 2-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, and that goal sent him top of the scoring charts for Premier League strikers in 2014, with 20 goals.

The 26-year-old netted his 20th of the calender year yesterday, whilst Manchester City’s, Sergio Aguero,  is second on 18, and after the game, Carragher stated that Bony would be perfect for Liverpool, who are struggling for goals themselves.

Carragher said: “I hope Liverpool sign him.

“If Liverpool sign [Mario] Balotelli for ÂŁ16m, Bony is worth ÂŁ20m or ÂŁ25m.

“I wish Liverpool got him this summer and I hope they’re looking at him in the future.”

Rodgers lost Luis Suarez in the Summer to FC Barcelona and has also been without Daniel Sturridge for the majority of the season due to injury, and that has been the main reason behind the lack of goals for the club this season.

Mario Balotelli, Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini are all struggling for Premier League goals at Anfield.
