Burnley are believed to be interested in West Bromwich Albion forward Jay Rodriguez.

The Clarets had approached the Championship side in the summer in a bid to acquire the service of the player but the move didn’t materialise as the Baggies were firm in their demand of couping £18m for the player while Burnley were not ready to cough up more than £16m for the 29 year old.

But Sean Dyche has once again felt the need to beefing up his attacking department and he might launch a renewed attempt to bring the player to Turf Moor. Rodriguez who hails from Burnley has been amongst goals this season. The former Burnley forward has featured in all the games so far in the second tier and has racked up nine goals in the proceedings.

Goals are drying up for Burnley and Dyche wants some imminent addition to the squad to keep the goal scoring chart ticking. The gaffer has been on the lookout for a wide forward and a striker and Rodriguez can be deployed anywhere across the front three.

The Baggies are currently placed in the seventh position in the Championship and still have a very good chance to finish in the top six to compete for an automatic qualification spot.
