Campbell has already had three loan spells since joining the Gunners, but after making a good impression at this summer’s World Cup, the youngster was expected to be handed a chance by Wenger.
Joel has made just two Premier League appearances this season, sparking rumours of another loan deal in the January transfer window.
But Wenger insists Campbell does have a future in north London, although he failed to deny he could send the Costa Rican on loan again in the New Year.
‘Yes, of course [Campbell is in my long-term plans],’ Wenger said.
‘But I cannot guarantee the happiness of every player. I try to make everybody happy.
‘I personally love Joel Campbell and have a big respect for him and I wish every day that he is happy from morning till evening.
‘We have all got to deal with our problems.’
European trio AC Milan, Galatasaray and Olympiakos have all shown an interest in Campbell.
