Terry feels Chelsea needs to improve to beat the Gunners

Chelsea only managed to scrape a win against Crystal Palace to close the gap between them and the Gunners to 2 points. The blues are going to play the current league leaders on Monday trying to inflict a 3rd loss in a row for Arsenal. Arsene Wengers side looked shaken against Manchester City last weekend after they had lost to Napoli midweek.

John Terry said: “We’ve got an opportunity to go away to Arsenal next week and go top of the league.”

“They got a bit of a thumping, but they’re a really good side and really good at home as well. It’s going to be tough, but I think the motivation for us is to go there and beat them and go top of the league, which, just before Christmas, is a really good place to be.”

Jose Mourinho was displeased with his side again after their performance against relegation threatened side Palace. This followed a game against Stoke City which resulted in them losing 3-2. Before this loss to Stoke City they won 4-3 against Sunderland which shows even against the lowest ranked teams in the league they still concede a large amount of goals.

“We’re clearly not firing on all cylinders at the moment.”

“I think we’ve got another year to go, which is still encouraging, being the position we are at the minute. So we’re not too disappointed, we just know as a group we can get better.”

Arsenal has been very consistent recently which opened up a large lead over the other title contenders however this gap has been closed after a 6-3 loss to City. This loss has left the Gunners looking very vulnerable in defense. All of the big clubs in the Premier League have had defeats against lower ranked teams. John Terry hopes that Chelsea can stop losing the easy games.
