The London club have sealed an agreement to sign Diego Costa for a reported €60million this summer.
Reports had circulated that Real Madrid were also ready to step in, though the Santiago Bernabeu outfit have since reportedly thrown in the towel after coming to terms with the alleged existing agreement between the Rojiblancos and Chelsea.
The Spanish press claim that Roman Abramovic gave Mourinho the green light after watching Costa terrorise La Liga defences, and Chelsea have since accepted to pay a €60million clause which was recently put into place by the Atletico directors.
