Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed his interest in FC Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas, but he’s confident that nothing will happen until after the World Cup.

The Spanish midfielder, who is set to compete in Brazil for his country, has asked the Catalan club to leave the club, and they have given him permission to talk to interested teams, with the Premier League his wanted destination.

Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City have all been interested in signing the 27-year-old, but according to reports, both City and Arsenal have ruled themselves out of the race, and it’s believe Louis Van Gaal doesn’t want to sign him either.

This leaves just Mourninho’s Chelsea a possible destination, and unlike his rivals, he has admitted that he’s interested.

‘I am interested in studying the situation of Fabregas. I guess he is eager to leave Barcelona and motivated to return to England,’ Mourinho is reported to have said.

‘I guess that course. Now if Cesc signs for Chelsea or another club, this issue is not for today, nor tomorrow, nor before the World Cup.’
