Chelsea manager Jose Mourino has defended his side’s penalty, which was won in the 94th minute of the game against West Brom yesterday and he has labelled is as a ‘clear spot-kick’.

With the game nearing it’s end, The Blues were surprisingly 2-1 down to The Baggies, despite Samuel Eto’o handing them the lead right on half-time.

Goals from Shane Long and Stephan Sessegnon turned the game on it’s head, until late on in stoppage time.

After Ramires collided with Steven Reid, the referee had no hesitation and pointed right to the spot, a decision that angered Steve Clarke, but his former-colleague insisted that it was a clear penalty.

Mourinho told BBC Sport: “I have watched it two or three times and it was a clear penalty.

“The referee made many mistakes during the game but that was not a mistake.”

He added: “It is always a difficult situation to accept for the team that is winning, but when they go home they will see on their screens that it was a situation where the referee did not make a mistake.”
