Jose Mourinho drops hint on striker signing

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has dropped his biggest hint yet that he will attempt to lure Colombian striker Radamel Falcao from AS Monaco in the Summer after claiming that ‘he cannot play in front of 3,000 fans’.

The Bluess boss is desperate to land a new striker in the Summer after a less than impressive season for trio Samuel Eto’o, Fernando Torres and Demba Ba, and after ruling out Paris Saint-Germain duo Edinson Cavani and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, it appears that his focus has turned to Falcao instead.

The Colombian has quickly become one of Europe’s hottest properties after dazzling performances in Spain with Atletico Madrid, and then continuing his fine form in France with mega-rich Monaco, but it now appears that a move to England could finally be on the cards.

He said: ‘I have a team, but no striker. Falcao does not have a team. A player like him can’t play in front of 3,000 people. Monaco is a club to end [your career with].’

If reports are to be believed, Falcao is reportedly unhappy at the lack of competition in France, and he may seek to end his career there after just one-year.

Chelsea however would have to stump up a fee of roughly ÂŁ50million, which is how much Monaco signed him for one year ago.
