Blues are working on re-building Stamford Bridge

Jose Mourinho has welcomed Chelsea’s decision to rebuild Stamford Bridge and that playing elsewhere, although not ideal, is a necessary sacrifice.

Fans and local residents were recently invited to a three-day exhibition to view the models and concept art on show.

Should a final design be agreed on and planning permission granted, the club will have no choice but to adopt a new home for up to three seasons.

Finding a suitable replacement is proving no easy task, both Twickenham and Wembley have already been approached but as of yet an agreement is still to be reached.

Mourinho Fine with Plans

Mourinho said: “I’ve taken charge of 98 matches on my bench in Stamford Bridge and hope to have more.

“I know the club needs to make the next step and that is a new Stamford Bridge, more seats.”

Jose Mourinho, whom is renowned for his pragmatism, also stated: “At a certain point of our lives as a club, we will have to leave which is a bad thing but if we need to play at another stadium we will try to make it our new home while we wait.”
