Liverpool boss not expecting to be busy

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has insisted that he doesn’t expect to be busy in the January transfer window, despite it being his first opportunity to stamp his mark on the club.

Klopp took over from Brendan Rodgers earlier in the season, meaning he had to work with the players that were already at the club, but according to the man himself, he’s not planning much change in January either.

Liverpool have been linked with several players since Klopp’s arrival, including several Borussia Dortmund stars, but Klopp is adamant that it will be a quiet window at Anfield.

Speaking about his transfer plans, the Reds manager insisted that he has complete trust in the current crop of players and he believes there is no need to make major changes in the New Year.

No Need For Changes

“If your boss thinks you’re not in the best day in your life and thinks, ‘Maybe I’ll replace him,’ that is not how the world should run,” said the German.

“It’s much more important to put your trust in people, and that trust should last longer than a couple of days.

“With the squad at this moment, I don’t feel we have to look for somebody else just because they cost £20million,” he added.

“At this moment, we have no problems with quality. We have problems sometimes maybe with concentration and maybe with other things… but we don’t know if the next player we can get will do it better.

“We now have two players for each full-back position, four centre-backs, Jordan Henderson [who had been out injured since August] in midfield for the first time, other offensive midfield players, and we have more strikers than other teams, so where is the space?

“Should we send four players away to take one, and then the next day he’s injured?”
