Jurgen Klopp turns down Manchester United

Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp has ruled himself out of the running for the Manchester United job.

The Red Devils made the decision to sack David Moyes this morning after a woeful season, and Klopp was one of the names mentioned to take over at Old Trafford, however, after hearing those reports, he quickly ruled himself out of the running.

Despite being offered a six-year contract, Moyes’ reign at United lasted just 10-months after a shocking spell in charge, which saw the club go trophyless, as well as finish outside the top-four with still three games to play.

Ryan Giggs will now be an interim manager for the final-three games, but Klopp is one guy that certainly won’t be in charge next season.

The Dortmund boss stated that his bond with the fans is unbreakable and his commitment to them is still there.

“Man Utd is a great club and I feel very familiar with their wonderful fans,” Klopp told the Guardian. “But my commitment to Borussia Dortmund and the people is not breakable.”

Louis Van Gaal is clear favourite for the job despite reports suggesting he had already agreed to take over from Tim Sherwood at Tottenham Hotspur.
