Manchester United outcast Shinji Kagawa has emerged as a top summer target by Atletico Madrid.
The Spanish club were hopeful of completing a swift move for Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla, but have been knocked back in their efforts to do so.
And now it appears that the La Liga winners have set their sights on unhappy star Shinji, who is also a target for German side Borussia Dortmund.
The Japenese international arrived from Germany in the summer of 2012 and has struggled to find his feet and nail down a regular starting spot at United.
Kagawa has been increasingly frustrated with his role at the Red Devils and looks to be seeking pastures new elsewhere.
It is understood that Kagawa would be availible around £13m, a price tag which Atletico are willing to pay.
