Kallstrom’s dream come true

Kim Kallstrom says it was ‘a dream come true’ to make his Premier League bow for Arsenal in a 2-2 draw with Swansea City on Tuesday evening.

The veteran Sweden midfielder, who linked up with the Gunners in January, admits he had hoped for a more positive outcome – with a late Mathieu Flamini own goal continuing to pile the pressure on under-fire boss Arsene Wenger.

Kallstrom has had to be patient to get his chance in an Arsenal shirt after completing his move from Spartak Moscow, back injury’s keeping him on the sidelines.

However, Kallstrom says he looking forward to playing a more prominent role over the remainder of the season after his 11-minute cameo against the Swans.

“For me, it felt really good coming on. I had a lot of time with the ball, I had some clean passes. I was involved and I’m just pleased to be out there playing.”

“It’s exciting and it’s like a dream come true to play for Arsenal in the Premier League. I’m just unhappy my debut didn’t end in a win. Everything felt good for me, obviously except their last goal and the last minutes of the match.”

Wether or not Kallstrom will make any difference to Arsenal in the run-in is disputed, with many pundits considering Kallstrom past his prime. I’m sure there’s another Swedish player that Arsenal fans would prefer have in their team for their final 7 games.
