Real Madrid are prepared to offload versatile midfielder Sami Khedira in the January transfer window, and it is rumoured that the Champions League winners have lined Lucas Silva as his replacement.
Khedira was subject to interest from Arsenal in the Summer transfer window, although nothing materialised, despite calls from Arsenal fans for a bulkier defensive midfielder to help push Arsenal to the next level.
However, it now seems Madrid are ready to let the World Cup winner depart for a nominal fee in January, rather than risk letting him leave on a free in the summer when his current deal expires.
With Arsenal and Chelsea keeping a close eye on the situation, the 10-time Champions League winners must find his replacement and they think they have one in Cruzeiro midfielder, Silva.
Understood to be a like for like replacement, the 21 year old has not yet made his debut for the Brazilian national team, but it is understood that the La Liga giants are still keen on acquiring his services.
